How to Install HoloToolkit for Unity

This week I have a tutorial video that shows how you can get going quickly with HoloLens development by installing the HoloToolkit and using it inside of Unity.

Next week, we will then take this example and deploy it to the HoloLens emulator.

I get errors saying my file is to large or to many polygons for hololens. What can I do to increase the memory?

Hey Jonathan, you will probably want to decimate the 3D model through either your modeling program or through Simplygon.

Hi, I want to use my Hololens to select a wall and get the dimensions and coordinates of the wall (corner coordinates). Can you please give suggestions on how to approach this problem. Regards, Vivek

Hey Vivek, You want to look at Spatial Understanding tests and examples in the HoloToolkit. The spatial understanding dll allows you to find the largest wall in the room for example. It shows creating a bounding box through the drawing functions that draws on top of the wall. I’d start there.
